About

Hello! I am so glad your path has led you here. And I am humbled you chose to learn more about me. I have a confession to make. Assembling words for this page has been an EFFORT! Mostly, because what you expect to find here are not things I generally choose to share. What I can comfortably tell you is everything about me sits at the center of YOU.logy and everything in my life has been sculpting and preparing me for it.

I came into this world insatiably curious and profoundly relational. Which means I have always felt deeply connected to people and an eager student of the human experience.

BUT…My life has not been a perfectly linear path to a fully formed vision of myself. Far from it! Instead, it has traveled more like a labyrinth, moving me near, around, and backtracking to some unrecognized version of myself. It has been challenging, baffling, and at times, terrifying BUT…magically brilliant in its evolution!!

I was once asked,
“What would be the title of your autobiography?”

My Answer: “Because I Listened”

These three words describe who I am in relationship with others. It explains how I choose ‘to do’ life (and is probably why my resume looks like an odd assemblage of parts) And it points to what I aspire to share with the world through YOU.logy.

Who or what I listened to in large part steered my life. It was probably my mother’s value in ‘serving others’ that ultimately propelled me to get my degree in social work.

My own curiosity led to certifications in Psych K and Reiki. And raw passion led to a teaching certification in mindfulness meditation.

It was the Universe’s stubborn insistence that led me to Custom Picture Framing…no joke! There was not a lot of listening going on around that point! But it is where I met my husband and where the happiest chapter of my life emerged.

My father often said, “your best education is life experience.” And it was that wisdom I leaned into when my husband and I took the leap of faith and started our own business, Your Art’s Desire, a custom frame studio and neighborhood-based art gallery.

It was again, the Universe’s gentle nudge that has delivered me to this moment. Admittedly, I was kicking and screaming, as my husband and I walked away from a thriving art business and everything that externally validated me. But I listened to that quiet voice within and persevered through a mini existential crisis so I could find my way to…NOW.

I was recently asked,
“What has your career path consistently found you doing?”

My Answer: “Helping People See Things Differently”

I did not recognize it at the time, but while I was teaching spiritual ideas to chemically dependent adolescents, community organizing, or listening to a child wanting to run away from the group home they had been placed in; my social work path consistently revolved around shifting perspectives.

Psych K and Reiki are healing modalities that help us recognize and respond to the often ignored wisdom within our bodies. And in teaching mindfulness, I helped people learn what they were paying attention to.

And we cannot ignore a 26-year history in picture framing, a literal art form in helping people see things differently. But it helped me see things differently too.

Here is What I Learned As A Picture Framer
  • When you start your own business, every single person that walks through the door is considered valuable!
  • Everyone that walks through the door has something with them that holds significant emotional value…and they were prepared to leave it in my care.
  • Everything that holds significant emotional value has a story…and when you ask about it, people will give you access to deeply personal parts of themselves.
  • When you listen, integrate, and reflect those details in your work together, people take notice and want to be equally supportive of you.
  • Not everything arrives in perfect condition. But when you accept things as they are and do not try to change or conceal them, you can bring out the best in anything.
  • Everything can be seen in an infinite number of ways.
All of these lessons have culminated into YOU.logy.

When We Listen, We See Differently…

When We See Differently, We See More!

And we just so happen to be living in a world that desperately needs this information…I am thrilled you have joined me on the journey.
